Routine Well-Woman Exams for Early Detection & Prevention

Regular well-woman exams are essential for maintaining reproductive health and identifying potential issues — such as cervical cancer, infections, or other gynecologic conditions — at an early stage. We understand that some women may feel nervous or hesitant about these appointments. At Jose Battistini, MD, OB/GYN, our goal is to make every patient feel comfortable, respected, and informed from start to finish.

We guide you through each step of the process, explain what to expect, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment. Every exam room is carefully prepared before your visit to ensure your comfort and safety.

What’s Included in Your Annual Exam:

General Health Check

We begin with a review of your medical history and any current concerns. Your vital signs, heartbeat, and blood pressure are measured to monitor your overall health.

Pap Smear

A small sample of cells is collected from the cervix during a pelvic exam to screen for signs of cervical cancer. Women who are sexually active or over a certain age are encouraged to have this test yearly.

Pelvic Exam

This examination allows us to assess the health of your ovaries, uterus, cervix, and vagina, helping to detect cancers, sexually transmitted infections, or other abnormalities.

Breast Exam

We check for lumps or irregularities that could indicate breast cancer and can also teach you how to perform self-exams between visits.
